STOCKTAKING JOBS

Stocktaking.

Every piece counts.

Supermarket, department store, DIY store or warehouse: during a stocktake, all inventory is counted. You count items, scan barcodes and record quantities – accurately, efficiently and as part of a team. Ideal for anyone who works with focus and likes short, predictable assignments.

THIS AWAITS YOU

Typical tasks involved in stocktaking.

Which branch or warehouse is being counted is specified before the shift. Before you begin, the stocktaking supervisor will explain the counting rules and scanners to you.

1

NUMBERS

Count goods

Shelf by shelf, you count items according to fixed rules – from screws to shampoo.

2

SCAN

Scan barcodes

Use the handheld scanner to scan items and enter the quantity counted.

3

RECORD

Maintain tally lists

Where no scanner is in use, you enter quantities neatly into count sheets.

4

CONTROL

Count again

If you notice any discrepancies, count selected areas a second time – just to be safe.

5

MARK

Mark areas

You mark counted shelves and storage locations so that nothing is counted twice or not counted at all.

6

ORDER

Put the goods back in stock

After counting, put everything back neatly so that the shop can open as normal the next day.

In short: stocktaking is precision work in a team. Anyone who can concentrate and work accurately is exactly right for this.

No prior experience is required. Accuracy and stamina are important – the stocktaking supervisor on site will explain the counting procedures and scanner to you.

Reliability

Stocktakes have fixed time slots. You arrive on time, as each person is responsible for a designated area.

Focus

Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes. Your assignment information will tell you exactly what is required.
